Job Description: Executive DirectorThe Executive Director has general administrative responsibility for the West Texas Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) as directed by the Board of Directors. Under the authority of the Board of Directors the Executive Director will provide oversight and direction to the planning, development and management of daily operations of the West Texas Children’s Advocacy Center. The Executive Director will work in partnership with the Board of Directors, CAC staff, Law Enforcement, Child Protective Services, Prosecution, Medical Personnel and other child protective agencies to help strengthen the Multidisciplinary approach to the prevention, intervention, treatment and prosecution of child abuse. The Executive Director will ensure the smooth operation of the Center to include financial performance, budget preparation, staffing, strategic planning and marketing, program development, policy formulation and compliance with all pertinent government regulations and standards in the Texas Family Code. Provide direct services in the community education as needed for presentations and training to assist in educating the community of the issues of child abuse and neglect, identifying victims and reporting process. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Mission driven with unquestionable integrity Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Social Work or other related Human Services field. Work experience in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Social Work or other related Human Services fields will be considered in lieu of a degree.Experience in a nonprofit organization, ideally direct care and management, preferred Demonstrated experience in operations management and planning with previous experience overseeing grants, human resources, day to day operations, agency policies and procedures, contracts, risk management, and legal Dependable transportation for local travel required Strong technical writing and communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and facilitation skills Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with MS Windows, Word, Excel, Access, QuickBooks and Outlook Individual should be creative, resourceful, detail-oriented, and flexible, possessing a positive attitude, tact, good judgment, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work well as a team member with staff, community professionals, and volunteers Individual should ensure accuracy and confidentiality in all work Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly to challenges Will include some evening hour and weekend hours. Desire to work in a child-abuse related organization Clear criminal and civil background check Administration and Financial Management Be responsible for the efficient management of the CAC and the daily operations of the facility, including, but not limited to, coordination of obligations relating to leases, contracts, taxes, insurance, payroll and debts with the Treasurer of the Board of Directors.In coordination with the Board of Directors, Develops annual operating budget for facility and administrative components. Proposes capital expenditures necessary for the efficient operation of CAC Coordinates with directors of programs, development, and finance all grant reporting and assures compliance Ensures personnel policies and procedures are appropriate for the effective and efficient functioning within the working environment and the protection of staff. Reviews policies and procedures annually and recommended changes as needed to the management teamOversees timely maintenance and agency records and reports for staff and participants and ensures record securityHiring, training, supervision and evaluations of all persons employed by the CAC.Holding staff meetings, recommending salary increases and approving leave for all staff.Maintaining employee records, evaluating staff needs and making recommendations to the board.Authorizing expenditures of budgeted items and signing checks with one other authorized signature.Keep an accurate record of all contributions and records to carry out his/her responsibilities of keeping the check register, receipts, deposits, etc.Design and implement programs consistent with the goals and mission of the CAC.Executive Director will maintain supervision on the state-wide intakes to ensure the Client Case and Family Advocate are accurately tracking all intakes sent through to our office from state wide intake. Development Identifies funding opportunities consistent with the organization’s mission and goals Cultivates new donor relationships and manages existing ones Assists the board of directors and Director of Development with planning and implementation of fundraising effortsOperations Executive Director is available to all community partners on a daily basis as needed for productive working partnership. Oversee the maintenance and updating of all internal policies and procedures and ensure they are reviewed and updated annually Oversees agency facilities and equipment and ensures all are maintained in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety. Evaluates and justifies supply needs and purchases Office management: oversee administrative functions for the CAC office, ensuring smooth daily operations of the office and all equipment Develop and maintain equipment inventory and tracking Represent the CAC on community committees, task forces and groups Oversee agencies social media sites Board of directors – Act as staff liaison to relevant board committeesKey Relationships Board of Directors - Prepares all board related materials, plans and attends all board meetings, and provides direct oversight and management of all board committees. Partner Agencies Government officials GrantorsFoundations ContractorsCommunity Education and Public Relations Assuring good public relations and maintaining a high level of awareness in the community regarding the CAC and Child Abuse prevention.Program Director is the face of the West Texas Children’s Advocacy Center within the communities of service and is involved with and available to all community partners for any needed presentations and daily working needs. Identifying gaps in prevention programs in the community and seeking resources to fill those gaps. Implementing programs for school age children that emphasize body safety and awareness of dangerous situations.Representing and serving as the contact person for the CAC in civic organizations and at community functions.Promote a positive image of the CAC.
