MRI Brain (P+C) and Epilepsy protocol

Technique:- Multiplanar, multiecho MRI of the brain was performed. Temporal lobes were evaluated in detail with thin oblique coronal T2W, FLAIR & IR sequences.

Observations:-

• Cerebral parenchyma appears normal with no focal or diffuse area of altered intensity.

• Cortical convexity sulci and sylvian fissures appear normal.

• Ventricular system is normal.

• The basal ganglia and thalami appear normal.

• The brainstem and cerebellum are unremarkable.

• Hippocampal formations appear symmetric in size. There is no signal abnormality seen in the hippocampal formations on the T2W images.

• Their internal architecture is well seen, bilaterally.

• Flow-voids of intra-cranial arteries and dural venous sinus appear normal.

• On post contrast study, no abnormal enhancing lesion / lepto / pachymeningeal enhancement in present study noted. Intracranial arteries and dural venous sinuses show normal opacification on post contrast images.

IMPRESSION :- MRI BRAIN (P+C) and epilepsy protocol reveals both hippocampal formations appear normal in size and morphology . No evidence of any other focal abnormalities identified in brain parenchyma.
