North Tampa Behavioral Health (NTBH) is a new, private, inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment program located just across the border of Polk County in East Pasco. It holds 75 beds with both semi-private and private rooms, opening Oct. 1 for adults and seniors. NTBH is ideally located in Wesley Chapel, minutes from US 75 (Exit 275), just 1.5 miles east of The Shops at Wiregrass on SR 56.

"We are excited to become an active member of the mental health community servicing the hospitals, emergency rooms, health clinics, first responders and families of this region," stated Jim Harris, CEO. "As the message gets out that we are here, easily accessible by any route that feeds into US 75, we will clearly attract referrals from providers and interest from families in Polk County ? Route 4 to 75 North is usually 20 to 40 minutes away from the Central and Western areas of Polk."

The treatment teams consist of highly experienced, caring professionals including psychiatrists, registered nurses, licensed social workers, recreational therapists, physical therapists, substance abuse counselors and other support staff that individualize treatment to meet each patient's needs.

"NTBH provides a state-of-the-art, safe, non-institutional environment where patients can feel welcomed and comfortable so they can focus on their treatment and begin the recovery process," said Harris. "The families and providers of this community will want to use our facility to meet their mental health needs."

NTBH offers both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and co-occurring treatment, including a Partial Hospital Program and an Intensive Outpatient Program to adults and seniors, age 18 and up. The outpatient programs will offer transportation. NTBH will also provide a mobile assessment team to community providers to assist with their needs.
