Teaching Philosophy and Goals

I believe that as a professional school, it is our responsibility as faculty to prepare our students to understand the theoretical implications of information science. As graduates of a professional program, they must also be able to adapt those theoretical implications to fit practical applications in all types of information environments. Through my classes I present the continued integration of library and information science in a technological world, and integrate all technology that is being accessed by the audience of information users. To take on the responsibilities of an information professional prepared to function in the twenty-first century, graduates must be prepared to organize, access, and retrieve information in all formats whether on the Internet or in a printed book.
