Two parcels with six patented mining claims of the former Sikson Mine, largely surrounded by the Klamath National Forest, Siskiyou County, northwest California near Oregon and the Pacific Ocean.

This unusual property can be accessed via State Highway 96 connecting to Forest Service Road 14N69 south of Dillon Creek and Forest Service Roads 14N35 and 14N31. The two parcels described below are located in Township 14 North, Range 5 East, Section 20 and 29 Humboldt Meridian. See maps: 1. California with Siskon Map 2. Siskon Property showing Topography and Access Roads.

This land, comprising a portion of the former “Siskon Mine,” is described by the Siskiyou County Assessor’s office as: (A) Parcel 26-070-010 including the Virginia. Tennessee, Florida and Georgia patented mining claims with 80 acres and (B) Parcel 26-100-010 including the Alabama and Texas patented mining claims with 31.8 acres.

Fifty years ago, partial mining took place within small tracks of the Virginia and Florida mining claim of Parcel 26-070-010. The land areas of Parcel 26-100-010 are still intact.

The land parcels are also one of the very few private deeded tracts still existing within the majestic Klamath National Forest of California. Located at elevations ranging from 3600 to 3200 feet, the property has no serious environmental problems or concerns. Spectacular scenery and privacy, the property contains diverse species of magnificent tree cover, and future potential for gold mining. The land is remote and extremely private with main access road and entrance gate secured and locked at Service Forest Road 14N31 by the U.S. Forest Service Rangers from nearby Happy Camp. This serves to control access to this pristine forest area from outsiders, others than the former Siskon Mine owners and Forest Service personnel.

The property is ideal in many respects …. perfect acreage for a very private, naturally beautiful, exclusive tranquil setting for summer use. No utilities. The steady stream flow of crystalline fresh water from the adjacent Copper Creek, the Medicine Creek and the Dillon Creek (tributaries of the Klamath River), are ideal for private fishing and recreation within pristine vegetation & exceptional wildlife settings. This unique opportunity to own a sizeable tract in Northern California, surrounded by U.S. natural forest land, is available at $59,000, or about $525 per acre.
