Windows 10 Operating System Lesson # 2 The Start Menu, File Explorer and Apps ListWindows 10 and its updates are radically different from the earlier Windows, but features of the earlier systems remain accessible in it. To keep these instructions concise we assume that students have previous experience with computers. To accommodate those familiar with the earlier versions, we use the features and techniques from the earlier versions when possible. Unlike previous versions, there will be not Service Packs for Windows 10. Rather, regular updates are intended to evolve the system and affect the way Windows 10 behaves. Here we describe the system as of the end of December 2015.Windows 10 is designed to work with either conventional screens or with touch screens. It works differently with these two types of devices. The instructions presented here do not apply to touch screens, except as noted.Do not turn the computer on until you know how to turn it off.Refer to instructions in Lesson 1.Turn Computer L on and log in Refer to instructions in Lesson 1.The Desktop and the Start MenuAfter you log into your account, ordinarily the system opens with the Desktop. These are system accounts that you should not access. But every account has its own Documents folder and you may access the ones in accounts that you crate.
