3. The narrator did not want to return plants that recovered because he hated to see the plants suffer after recovering from their illness.

2. How was the narrator able to grow an orange tree in his bedroom? Ans. The narrator was able to grow an orange tree in his bedroom by mistakenly after pushing the orange seed into an empty pot ,not expecting anything to happen.

3. Why would the rugs and furniture of the narrator's house get ruined? Ans. The rugs and furniture of the narrator's house get ruined because of the sturdiest of shrubs.

4. What is the narrator's view on" loyalty "in plants? Ans. The narrators view on loyalty in plants means that plants must be respected and rewarded.

5. When did the crickets become silent? Ans. The crickets became silent after the narrator switched off the lights off his room.

Read these lines and answer the questions that follow:-

1. Plant abuse, no less!

a) What plant abuse is referred to here? Ans). Plant abuse means illtreatment of the plant.

b) What reputation had the narrator earned?

Ans). The narrator had earned the reputation as the plant doctor.

c) Why had he earned such a reputation?

Ans. The narrator had earned a reputation because he loved to take other people's Sikh or discarded plants and nursed them back to health.

2. "Among flower lovers there must be no double standards. Generosity ,not greed; sugar, not spite".

a) What double standards does the narrator refer to here? Ans. A rule or principle which is unfairly applied in different ways for different flowers and plants.

b) How can flower lovers be generous?

Ans. One can be generous by not plucking flowers unnecessarily.

c) Use 'double standard' in a sentence of your own . Ans. There seems to be a double standard with regular students and football players since the latter can skip class whenever they want. ______________________________ _____
