How to Register Your Home Education Program

Step 1

In order to register your home education program through Leon County Schools, you (the parent/guardian) must send a written Letter of Intent notifying the Superintendent of Schools of Leon County that you intend to establish and maintain a home education program for your child(ren).

PLEASE MAIL or FAX YOUR LETTER OF INTENT TO:

The Letter of Intent must include the names, addresses, phone number, and birthdates of all children being enrolled, and it must be signed by the parent or guardian.

Step 2

Complete the Home Education Program Registration Form and fax or mail it to

Step 3

Withdraw your child from his/her current school.

When the Home Education Compliance Office receives your Letter of Intent from the Superintendent’s Office and your Home Education Program Registration form, you will receive confirmation that your home education program has been registered through Leon County Schools—if you have withdrawn from the current public school. A parent procedures packet will be emailed or mailed to you.
