This class is Part 1 and takes place in a traditional classroom and will be completed in a single day. Students will receive reference books, take the NRA CCW student examination and receive a course completion certificate upon successfully passing. You will need a good concealed carry holster, belt and two mag pouches with 3 magazines for a semi-auto, and/or two speed loaders with pouches for a revolver, with a cover garment. No weapon of less than 9mm or 38 Special. NO AMMUNITION IN THE CLASSROOM! This course of instruction will consist of Firearm Safety, Pistol Nomenclature and Selecting a Pistol for self-defense, basic defensive pistol skills, drawing from concealment (practice for live fire exercises). You will be taught loading and stoppage remediation, carry modes as well as pistol concealment. When you register with the college. you will also need to register on the NRA Training page. Prior to the start of class our instructor will contact you to discuss your individual needs and requirements. For this course, you must pay in advance and there are no refunds if you do not attend. This is a nine (9) hour class with a 1/2-hour lunch. No smaller caliber firearm than 9mm or 38 special with an appropriate carry device and equipment as previously described. You will need a minimum of 200 rounds of ammunition. The material covered will include Firearm Safety (mandatory), basic defensive pistol skills, drawing from concealment, CCW student shooting drills, and CCW student shooting qualification. When you register with the college and on the NRA Training page, our instructor will contact you to discuss your particular needs and requirements. This class is limited to those who have already passed the CCW classroom portion of the instruction and have their certificate of successful completion. This class will present various procedures that enable the patrol officer to recognize high risk vehicle stop situations and to safely execute those stops in which the occupants pose an increased risk to public and officer safety. This course is offered by LCCC as a separate and distinct firearms training course and has no affiliation with the PCCD. For an applicant to be accepted into the program they must be a Pennsylvania Constable certified by the PCCD to carry a firearm in the line of duty. When registering for this course applicant must provide his/her Constable Certification Number for verification of eligibility.
