If the National Instant Background Check System notifies the United States Immigrations and Customs Enforcement office when an undocumented immigrant attempts to purchase a firearm, it would keep firearms out of the hands of undocumented immigrants and allow for the enforcement of federal immigration laws; and Whereas, the safety and security of American citizens can greatly benefit from crafting this legislation. The South Carolina House of Representatives urges the members of the United States Congress to introduce legislation establishing the reporting requirement immediately. Now, therefore,Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, memorialize the United States Congress and encourage congressional action to require the National Instant Background Check System to notify the United States Immigrations and Customs Enforcement office when an undocumented immigrant attempts to purchase a firearm. Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be sent to the South Carolina Congressional Delegation.XX ................
