Robinson Job DescriptionAngela RobinsonWright State UniversityRobinson Job DescriptionJob Description ObjectiveTo obtain a position that challenges my critical thinking skills and promote opportunity to advance in my role as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.Role of AG-ACNPThe Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) perform as an independent licensed practitioner within their scope of practice defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. The Consensus Model for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) regulation defines the appropriate requirements essential to practice as an independent practitioner. The Consensus Model is based on standardized requirements for each area of expertise to maintain guidelines to practice within the scope of practice. The Ohio Board of nursing requires the AG-ACNP to comply with a current licensure, valid Certificate of Authority, up-to-date standard care agreement, and continuing education. The AG-ACNP critical care role can be efficient in identifying acute illnesses requiring hospitalization, utilization of critical thinking skills, initiation of plan of care, and the use of evidenced-based practice guidelines to improve patient outcomes. Report: The AG-ACNP will be responsible to round on his or her patients, formulate an assessment and plan to present to their attending physician during grand rounds.Educational Requirements:Master’s Degree in NursingANCC CertificationCurrent Certificate of Authority from the Ohio Board of NursingCurrent BLS/ACLS Completed Standard Care Agreement with the attending physicianCTP/CTP-E obtained or in processCompletion of 500 clinical hoursTwo- three years of critical care experience Maintain current malpractice insurancePositive attitude and team playerStrong work ethic and reliableAbility to work harmoniously under pressure efficientlyMaintain good rapport with patients, families, and staff Responsibilities of Clinician:Represent the organization by demonstrating the highest level of professionalism in all encounters working within the organizationCompletion of a thorough history and physicalInterpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory dataDevelop an appropriate plan of care, education material, and discharge planUtilization of evidence-based guidelinesEvaluate the patients in the emergency department that require admission and initiate appropriate admitting ordersDemonstrate prompt admission orders into EPICAbility to follow organization protocolsUtilize the current research to provide optimal careWork within the scope of the AG-ACNP practice/guidelinesMaintain seamless collaboration with the attending physician and interdisciplinary teamDemonstrate effective communication with the patient, families, physician, and interdisciplinary team Consult appropriate physician when indicatedEducation:Demonstrate the ability to discuss proper information of prevention of adverse reactionsCommunicate efficiently with patients and families regarding their illnesses, medications, treatment options/plans, and importance of follow-upPrecept new AG-ACNP after a year of experienceResearch:Integrate up-to-date guidelines and evidenced based information when choosing a treatment planAttend continuing education to remain current with new guidelines and researchParticipate with research projects if indicated within your specialty area of expertiseProfessional Leadership:Remain active with professional organization Be actively involved within the organization committee for safety, improvement, and quality meetingsDemonstrate willingness to take initiate as a role model for new hires and precept new AG-ACNP Evaluation:It is important the AG-ACNP to complete a self-evaluation twice a year as a new graduate with proper feedback from their attending to determine if their performance is exceeding the requirements.
