We are:Nurturing: We care for whole families and each other.Professional: We strive for excellence, learn from our mistakes and celebrate success.Unified: We work as one team with one vision.Transparent: We act with integrity and honesty at all times.Empowering: We encourage innovation, support personal and organisational development.JOB PURPOSETo provide administrative support and undertake a range of specific non clinical activities to enable the effective and smooth running of the In Patient Unit (IPU).To provide reception services to the Inpatient Unit (IPU) receiving relatives and visitors to the unitTo support administrative continuity of the IPU team in conjunction with other clinical administrators and in accordance with Hospice policies and proceduresMAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1.To provide receptionist duties to the Inpatient unit2.To maintain accurate information on the clinical database (SystmOne), particularly regarding admissions, discharges and deaths3.To receive admissions, assist with the organisation of discharges/appointments communicating with other departments as required4.To communicate Hospice policy and procedure to IPU staff members and volunteers including use of IT information systems.5.To check the accurate completion of Staff Nurse timesheets in accordance with monthly staff rotas taking corrective action and advising members of staff of correct process where appropriate, escalating persistent or continued inaccuracies as necessary 6.To participate in completing the ward duty registers, organising cover for roles including booking bank and agency nurse cover as requested.7.To liaise with internal and external organisations, colleagues and professionals as required including assisting with booking patient transport and liaising with transport providers.8.To deal with enquiries, including telephone enquiries, in conjunction with, and under the direction of nursing staff 9.To gather information relating to complaints, untoward incidents and faulty equipment under the direction of IPU Nurse Manager /Team Leaders.10.To participate in the induction of staff, assisting with SystmOne and email password allocation11.To attend ward meetings as required12.To participate in the collection of data for ward audits as required13.To be aware of and adhere to hospice policies and procedures relating to clinical care37541201162051336040116205Employee’s Signature Date 37541201276351518920132715Line Manager’s Signature Date (Please return both copies of the signed Job Description to Human Resources)This is an outline job description designed to give an overview of the responsibilities of the role. Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office programmes. Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills.Ability to work independently and as a supportive team member.
