If your school(s) are awarded this grant, you will be required to submit an implementation plan to OSPI prior to the start of the grant period. Please use this document to plan out details of how your program would operate. Be as specific as possible to make sure the plan is clear.Provide the dates of first and last days of school. When could you begin serving FFVP snacks at the beginning of the new school year? When would the last day that FFVP would be provided? Consider typical end-of-the-year activities that could impact schedule of normal serving time.The school must offer the FFVP produce at least two days per week, but could be offered as frequently as daily. Indicate the days of the week the FFVP produce will be offered to all students. When will FFVP produce will be offered? If offering more than once per day, specify the times for each.If there are days the FFVP produce will be not be offered, explain why. For example, the FFVP produce will not be offered on early release days.Describe how the produce will be delivered from the kitchen to the students. Be specific. If there is more than one way this is accomplished, describe each way. Consider food safety, school schedules, and central kitchen set-ups.Nutrition education is strongly encouraged. When offering a cooked vegetable, nutrition education is required when students receive the produce. Nutrition education material costs are not an allowable expense. What types of nutrition education will occur?Describe how the school will promote the FFVP to students, parents, staff, and to the community. School websites, reader boards, bulletin boards with nutrition education, newsletters to parents, and social media involvement are popular ways schools promote their program.Each school should have at least one non-federally funded partner. Connecting with groups outside of the school have been shown to be vital for FFVP success. These partnerships often provide the nutrition education programming; some examples would be community health agencies, an extension co-op office, or a local college.
