Dear NWU studentA warm welcome to the Post Graduate Diploma in Management with Business Administration programme for 2020.The team consist of Dr Johan Jordaan (the PGDIP Programme and Academic Manager), Dr Nelda Mouton (Administrative Manager) and Ms Debbie Meyer (Administrative Assistant).PLEASE READ THE INFO CAREFULLY AND REFER TO THE NWU, DISTANCE (PGDIP IN MAN) WEBSITE FOR ALL ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.Please find below important contact details and links for your urgent attention:DISTANCE EDUCATION (UODL website: distance@nwu.ac.za)If you register as a distance student, you have to keep in mind that the programme for contact, part time- and distance students are aligned, but there is a difference as the student experience will differ to some extent. In contact and part time classes there are f2f sessions, but this is not necessarily possible for distance students. You will rely strongly on technology to communicate and therefore you need to use and create platforms to make this interaction possible. You can also not migrate between part-time and distance due to logistical alignment. The platforms your will mainly use are e-fundi, chatrooms, emails, etc.EFUNDI ()Lecturers will mainly communicate with students via e-fundi. All the info will appear on e-fundi. All submissions, class tests, dates, etc. will be on e-fundi. If you have problems logging in on e-fundi, you must please call the e-fundi call centre at 018?285 2295 or email to eFundi-PC@nwu.ac.za. You will not be able to do this programme if you do not log in to e-fundi. As the programme is online, class recordings will be on Panopto. These recordings may also be available on e-fundi. If not you have to log onto the NWU website to access the recordings.PANOPTO ().Classes are pre-recorded via Panopto. To access the recordings, go the NWU website/distance education, click on downloads, log in via the password for PGDIP in Management (PGDIPMAN, username manpgdip) and you will access to all the recordings. Lecturers may decide on one or two interactive recordings, but that will be communicated to you via e-fundi.PC-STUDYFEES@NWU.AC.ZA / 018?299 2667/8/9(The Finance Department can be contacted for any financial enquiries, including quotations. Please also note that you will only be registered once you have paid the minimum required amount. The registration process will close the 31st of October or when registration numbers have been reached. No late registrations will be allowed. Should the numbers be reached before the closing date and you have not been registered, your application will be cancelled.REGISTRATION LINK Please follow the registration link as indicated. Students will be responsible for their own registrations and we therefore encourage you to make sure of your module choices beforehand. Here are some helpful hints in the registration process;The programme can be taken over 1 to 2 years, but it is advised to take the programme over a 2 year period due to the workload.All modules are semester bound and therefore can only be taken in the appropriate semester, but should you fail the module or if you did not write the module during your first opportunity, the second opportunity is during the next exam session which is 6 months later.PRESCRIBED MATERIAL ()The text book list for 2020 will be placed on the NWU distance/PGDIP website. It is your responsibility to purchase your books via e.g. Takealot, Van Schaik’s, etc.INTERNET AND ACADEMIC PROCESSESYou cannot register for the programme if you do not have internet access and if you are not computer literate as the programme is online.Also note that it will be requested of you to work in groups and therefore you will have to contact your group members via skype, email, whatsapp, google hangouts, or any other means of communication as it will not necessarily be possible to meet f2f. Groups usually consist of 4-8 members and each module consists of a group – and an individual assignment.Note: If both assignments are not submitted, you will not qualify for the exam.DIY LINK/360 LINK ()Students will be able to access certain services such as Academic records on the DIY link. The student password is the student ID number.You will also be able to change your contact details via the DIY link.EXAMINATIONAll info is on the web which includes the exam timetable, exam centre, your personal exam timetable.
