Payment Information This section includes your Pay Group which determines the pay frequency (i.e., B1 or B2 = bi-weekly,

W1 = weekly), as well as the Start and End Date this check is paying. The Pay Station is the physical

location where this check is distributed. It also includes your assigned Business Unit (Facility), the

Check or Advice Number (payment identifier) and the Check or Advice Date [date on which the check

is payable or your advice is deposited into your chosen account(s)].

Employee ID

Previously known as TK ID, the Employee ID is a uniquely assigned ID for each employee. This box

also includes your mailing address so that checks can be mailed to you if necessary.

Your Work Information This box contains your Department, assigned physical Location, Title, Pay Rate and Pension ID

number.

Tax Data

This box contains the income tax withholding information you claimed on your federal W-4 form and

New York State IT-2104 form (if applicable) ? the number of allowances (exemptions) and marital

status for tax purposes.

Earnings & Taxes Contains your income tax withholdings, pay rate, hours, and total earnings (Current & YTD).

Hours and Earnings Taxes

This is where your regular pay, overtime pay and any other earnings are detailed. It includes regular hours being paid, your pay rate, as well as your total current and YTD earnings.

This box displays a list of all the income and employment taxes withheld from your pay. It includes federal, state and local withholdings. Your FICA deduction is broken down into its components, your Medicare deduction (MED) and your Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI) deduction. The OASDI portion is listed as FICA on your current pay stub.

NY Withholding is the amount of state income tax withheld and paid to New York State. NY NEW YORK is the amount of city (or local) income tax withheld and paid to New York City. NYC Section 1127 withholding is the amount withheld for New York City (non-residents).

Voluntary Deductions Contains your voluntary benefit deductions made on a before-tax or after-tax basis.

Before-Tax Deductions After-Tax Deductions

Before-Tax Deductions are calculated and withheld before income taxes are calculated. They reduce your taxable income and the amount on which your tax withholdings are based. These might include deductions for: pension, WageWorks, employee savings plans (401(k), 403(b), and 457), healthcare flexible spending, health insurance and dependent care. After-Tax Deductions are calculated and withheld after income taxes are calculated. They do NOT reduce your taxable income or your tax withholdings. These might include deductions for: union dues, life insurance, ROTH IRA, and municipal (MCU) deductions. They do not impact your taxable gross.

Totals Contains all of the total earnings and deductions in preparation for your year-end W-2.

Total Gross

The accumulation of year to date (YTD) gross earnings.

Federal Taxable Gross Net Pay Distribution

Total Gross earnings minus all Before-Tax deductions. This is the basis for the amount reported on your year-end W-2. Total Gross earnings minus all withholdings (Before-Tax Deductions, Taxes, and After-Tax Deductions). The amount(s) directly deposited into your specified bank account(s).
