October 10th is an official attendance day that all students must report to school. Our 9th, 10th and 11th graders will take the PSAT exam, while our 12th graders will have a day filled will activates that will help them transition after high school. Students taking the PSAT should come prepared with two #2 pencils and a graphing calculator. All 9th graders will take the Grade 8/9 PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test). This exam measures critical reading, math problem solving and writing skills. All 10th and 11th graders will take the PSAT which also measures critical reading, math problem solving and writing skills. Please visit the College Board, for more information about the exam. Students who have an IEP or a 504 Plan and have already completed the necessary paperwork for testing accommodations from The College Board will receive these accommodations for the PSAT. On October 10th all seniors will have the opportunity to meet representatives from Seton Hall University, Quinnipiac University and Berkeley College. Seton Hall and Quinnipiac will be here from 8:20 – 9:30 detailing what their respective schools have to offer. Berkeley will present to our students important information about how to conduct yourself during an interview for college admittance, an internship and a job. Mr. Cucuzza, our internship coordinator, will be taking applications from our 12th graders for internship opportunities in the 12th grade. Petrides National Honor Society is a great honor bestowed upon high school students. Selection for membership is conducted by a Faculty Council and is based on outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities. To be eligible for membership each candidate must complete a NHS application.Applications and forms for membership in the M. J.
