This award, presented on behalf of the NY State Attorney General’s Office, will be given to two students in recognition of their commitment to their education and their future, their strong character which has helped them to achieve the goals they have set for themselves, and their exceptional courage which will aid them in meeting the challenges ahead, and to improving society.

PRESIDENTIAL AWARDS

The Presidential Awards are given in two categories: Educational Excellence and Educational Achievement. Each recipient will receive a certificate signed by the President of the United States and a pin.

Recipients of Educational Excellence have earned a grade point average of 90 and higher and have been recognized for their outstanding academic achievement, involvement in community service and extracurricular activities.

NYS Scholarship

It is my privilege to acknowledge two students who have been awarded by the New York State Education Department the 2009 Series Scholarship for Academic Excellence. The scholarship amount will be awarded to these recipients each academic year during their undergraduate program.

We are proud to congratulate:

Agnieska Braczyk – who has been awarded the $1,500 Schlorship for Academic Excellence

Sarah Singh – who has been awarded the $500 Scholarship for Academic Excellence

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society recognizes outstanding high school students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

It was our honor to induct 57 high school students into our chapter on June 5thth. There are 94 students in our NHS Chapter. The12th graders were bestowed with honor stoles. This morning they proudly wear the honor stole over their gowns to acknowledge this distinction.
