Intraday Market Response to Equity Offering Announcements:
We find that NASDAQ stocks react faster to equity offering announcements than NYSE/AMEX stocks over the first 15 minutes following the news release. The faster NASDAQ response is surprising given that NASDAQ stocks have on average a smaller offering size, lower equity capitalization and less frequent trading activity than NYSE/AMEX stocks. ................
