We will begin with an interactive song "I like to come to school" describing different things they can do in school. Then, each child will have a chance to share which center they would be HAPPY to choose today. -Discuss what they can do in the centers.-(DP) Children will use the paper puppets (or a figurine they have at home) and act out different feelings and emotions.-(M) We will create a "How do you feel today?" Chart. The children will vote on how they feel, and graph it.(create a chart of the different emotions you feel throughout the day)-(SS) Children will use different objects around the room (home) to measure their height.-(W) Children will practice writing names of family members and/or roles. (Ex. Mom, Dad, sister, brother, etc.)-(A) Each child will draw a picture of how they feel today. They will use it when voting in the Math Center. (we will post the tally online for the remote children)-(B) Students will be encouraged to use blocks (or other toys they have at home) to build buildings they are familiar with, such as those that they live in or visit often.-(L) Students will use books (news papers, cereal boxes and anything that had words on it) to point out words that begin with the letter F.TuesdayDate: 9.22.20*Good Morning Song*Visuals: Feelings/emotions pictures,Books on emotions.*Music and Movement (dance, game..): "if you're happy and you know it" song-Today, we will continue focusing on feelings by playing "If you're happy and you know it". During attendance the children will each say something that makes them happy, sad, scared, excited...-Teacher will show the children other books we will be reading throughout the week and discuss different feelings and emotions. -(DP) Students will play "What are those emotions?" by looking in the mirror making facial expressions and naming them.-(M) Students will compare which column on the t-chart has more and/or less.-(SS) We will talk about how the children grew since they were babies. Introduce a measuring tape to have the children measure their height. Have children record it. (We will email the results recorded with the children's initials.) -(W) The children will trace the letters in their name.-(A) The children will draw and cut out circles of different emotional faces.-(B) Children will be encouraged to build something that makes them happy/sad/angry.-(L) Students will use pictures to create a collage that start with the letter F. (Take a newspaper, magazine, or online photos to allow your child to create a collage of things that start with the letter F)WednesdayDate: 9.23.20*Good Morning Song*Visuals: Pictures of the centers/ activities.*Music and Movement (dance, game..): Feelings song by Second Step-We will talk about what the children like to play at school and their favorite center/ activity at home. - Create a class book: We will create a class book of what the children like to play. Each child will complete one page with a picture they drew and decorated. They will also have the opportunity for dictation about what they like to play.-(DP) Students will look at pictures of different emotions. (These pictures will be emailed to parents)They will be encouraged to act out different emotions and state when they feel those emotions.-(M) Using several colored shaped paper, encourage students to sort colors by placing them within the same colored plate.-(SS) The children will create a growth chart, charting the different heights of the children. We will compare their heights. Discuss how they are not going to stay this size. (We will email a picture of the growth chart we are using)-(W) Children will practice writing their names.-(A) The children will draw and cut out circles of different emotional faces.-(SS) Encourage students to explore and form different faces using Playdough. (provide playdough recipe)-(L) Students will walk around the classroom identifying objects that start with the letter F. They will use the puppets to act out a play. Encourage children to try their friends suggestions of the different centers.-(A) Students will create a mirror using foil paper and other materials. They can create it in any shape or form. We will focus on what they see and how many different emotions they can make.-(W) Children will practice making the letter F using the vertical and horizontal lines. -(SS) Encourage students to use their sensory bin (flour) to write the first letter of their first name.-(L) Students will choose a book (or other items that have letter and words on them) and identify words that start with the letter F.
