Standing Together Capital Campaign

"Give 5 For the Journey"- As we continue to stand together in supporting God's ministry through Grace, please pray about committing to the life changing ministries here by giving an extra $5 per week. We spend $5 so easily throughout our week, but now you have the opportunity to use that money to affect people's lives in our church and community. Commitment cards are in the pews for you to sign and return showing your willingness to participate in supporting ministry at Grace. The "Standing Together" envelopes can be used for this special offering.

How to Pray for your Pastor

John Maxwell, in Partners in Prayer (Thomas Nelson, 1996), encourages people to pray for the top seven needs of a pastor:

| |Sunday |Rest and Strength | |Thursday |Obedience to God |

| |Monday |Intimacy with God | |Friday |Leadership |

| |Tuesday |Family | |Saturday |Wisdom |

| |Wednesday |Ministry effectiveness | | | |

Shield your pastor from “head to toe,” covering him with prayer as the armor of God does (see Eph. 6:10-20). There is one “garment” for each day of the week.

The helmet of salvation Ask God to protect your pastors’ head – their thoughts, ideas, dreams. Ask that God guide their plans, vision, and sermon preparation and

that they may know their sins are forgiven in Jesus. Pray that their mind may be continually renewed by a focus on God’s gift of salvation and grace. Pray for

discernment, wisdom, guidance, and strength.

The belt of truth Ask God to keep your pastors constantly in God’s Word, sensitive to God’s direction and will, and able to speak the truth boldly. Pray that their

relationships with spouse, children, and friends may be satisfying and provide a strong witness.

The breastplate of righteousness Pray that your pastors may seek God with their whole heart. Pray that they will place Jesus on the throne of their life and that

God will protect their heart with diligence. Ask God to bless them with physical, emotional, and financial well-being.

Feet fitted with the gospel Ask God to help your pastors to walk in ways that are obedient and pleasing to God, to keep their feet on solid ground, to keep them

from straying, to lead them where God wants them to go, and to send them with eagerness into the world with the gospel.

The shield of faith Ask God to guard your pastors from discouragement, unreasonably negative people, and temptation. Ask God to protect their ministry, family, and

personal walk with God. Pray that God will enable them to lead with integrity, live with confidence, and love with grace.

The sword of the Spirit Ask God to give your pastors boldness in preaching, the willingness to confront in counseling situations, and a desire to follow the leading

of the Spirit regardless of the cost.

Prayer Ask God to give your pastors a passionate devotional life, to protect their quiet time with God, to clearly answer their prayers, and to bring fruit into

their ministry.
