DMU Replay title: Office 365 Outlook (July 2018) Speaker: Maxine ArmstrongTotal length of audio: 00:04:20.000Hello, welcome to this introduction to Office 365 Outlook.Every student is given a student email account that is available throughout your registration period. It is available through Office 365 and Outlook, both of which are accessed through MyDMU.Here in MyDMU there is a tile called ‘Office 365’. The tile next to it is ‘Office 365 Email’ which will take you directly into Outlook. You can open Outlook from Office 365, but we will open it directly using the Office 365 Email tile.If you have already signed into the single sign-on service you will not need to sign in again. However, if you haven’t signed in yet, then it will take you to the login page. You just need to sign in with your usual login details, so that is your pnumber and current password. The first time you open Outlook you will need to choose your language and set the time zone. Our time zone is Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon and London and it is a little over half way down the list. This account has already been set up so it goes straight through to the inbox. Here is your inbox, and you have different folders here on the left. This middle pane shows your list of emails. The Focused list is where all your important emails get put and all the rest get put into other. Outlook pre-sorts them so emails you interact with get put into focused and automated or bulk emails etc get put into other. But you can change where an email gets put when you open them and you can also turn the feature off. If I click on an email it gets shown here in the right hand pane. This search box lets you search for text and people. So I’ll just click on Rob to see all the emails from him. Or if I type in Turnitin Receipt, and you can see it has found all the receipts from Turnitin.Let me just open this email …You can see in this email there is an attachment. I have the option of opening it, downloading it or saving it to OneDrive. Now you have 1TB of storage space on OneDrive so it is a useful storage area and means you do not have to use memory sticks etc. As long as you are connected to the internet you have access to all your documents. To send an email click New and you can now write your email, add an attachment, and so on and then send it. You can also forward your emails to another email account, such as a personal or work account. Just click on the small cog to open the setting panel. In the search box start typing forwarding …Now complete this forwarding form. Ensure you tick the box to keep a copy of forwarded messages. As your student email account in the official form of communication that the university uses you need it for proof that you have received emails. It is also a useful back up in case you have problems with your other email account and academics are not able to respond to emails from a personal account.Type in your email address and now click save. You can stop forwarding at any time.Log off by opening My Accounts and click Sign OutThank you for watching. ................
