Position – Events Manager @Friends of Europe

Working proactively, in a planned and organized manner with a focus on anticipating needs of the wider organization, the Events Manager is responsible for ensuring Friends of Europe events reflect its strengths and capability as leading think tank known for its ability to connect citizens to policymakers, to facilitate quality debates and enable change in policy making. Delivering to a high standard, managing costs and contractual requirements of events is an essential element of the events’ manager responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Managing the central FOE agenda of events (selection of possible dates based on holidays, parliamentary activities, other external activities, other FOE/DE activities)

• Preparing and managing budgets for events and preparing cost estimates to be sent to potential partners and assisting other team members in estimating the costs to be included in the budgets

• Managing the technical/logistics aspects of events and ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to; liaising with and booking suppliers

• Ensuring staff are adequately prepared for events

• Coordinating the preparation of the material needed for the event

• Ensuring that on the day of the event it is efficiently delivered and is well received

• Managing the administrative part of the events’ reporting including financial report where relevant

• Undertake any tasks and responsibilities commensurate with this position as required by the organization

➢ Reporting to the director of programmes and operations

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of events‘ coordination

• Good verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of French is a plus)

• Exceptional people skills

• Excellent time management and organization skills

• Ability to plan and deliver against hard and fast deadlines

• The position will be required to support some events which take place early mornings and evenings as well as abroad.
