[Pages:3]"New Scrabble Dictionary For A New Generation"

Merriam-Webster published the new edition of the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary, containing 300 new words, on Monday. Among those words are twerk -- to dance by shaking the buttocks while squatting --

and ew, used to express disgust. The dictionary is a reference book for players of the popular crossword

puzzle game produced by Hasbro. This is the sixth edition of the dictionary, which was first published in 1976 and is only updated once or twice a decade. The

prior edition was published in 2014. "Scrabble has been a game night staple for 70 years, and we're excited to bring the game into its next decade with hundreds of current words like facepalm and emoji," said Hasbro. "Additions like these will add a new layer of fun to game night, making game play even more entertaining and relevant." Ew joins 106 other twoletter words in The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary.

Two-letter words are highly regarded in the competitive Scrabble community.

Millions of years before the brontosaurus roamed the Earth, a massive relative was lumbering around South Africa. Scientists think this early Jurassic dinosaur was the largest land creature ever to have lived. The discovery didn't happen quickly -- it took years to get this dinosaur out of the ground, beginning in 1990!

Three people snatched a small shark from a pool at the San Antonio Aquarium and smuggled it out in a baby carriage over the weekend. One suspect is in custody and "the shark is alive and well and on its way back to the aquarium," said the aquarium's general manager. Leon Valley Police Chief said officers initially refused to believe that the 911 call was real. But "they finally convinced me that it was true somebody had walked in and stole a shark out of a aquarium." The aquarium said the thieves brought their own net with them to snag the shark from an interactive "touch pool" exhibit while an attendant was assisting other visitors.
