PASTOR’S MESSAGE ~ A NOTE OF INTEREST ~ What say you about this? Sister Lucia of Fatima told Cardinal Carlo Caffara, Archbishop of Bologna, “Final confrontation between the Lord and Satan will be over family and marriage.” Pay attention to this because important “things” – statements and decisions – will be made this Fall at the upcoming Synod this October, 2015. We look forward to the resolution, guidelines and decisions made regarding marriage and family life. I am sure this will affact us in the Church for years to come.
Satan will be very closely involved with this and so should we.
Fr. Bo
LET US PRAY AND REMEMBER ~ The following Rev. Fathers from our diocese that died throughout the years from
July 20th through July 26th: Patrick F. Rager, John P. Manning, A. Henry Stange, Anthony P. Czeslawski, Florence J. McCarthy, and John P. Hacala

Allen Zeth, Francis Moyher, TOR, Deacon Philip Gibson and Seminarian Peter Crowe
BAPTISM ~ On Sunday, July 12th, we celebrated the glorious baptism of Arlo Martin Zeller, son of Kile and Janelle Yakicic Zeller by Father Bodziak. He became a new creation in Christ in the waters of Holy Baptism. Now joined to us by the gifts of faith, hope and charity, we warmly welcome him into Catholic Family..
MAY HE REST IN PEACE ~ In your charity, please pray for the eternal rest of Eugene Krupka whose Funeral Service was held at Kinley Funeral Home on July 10th by Byzantine Bishop John M. Kudrick of Parma, Ohio. May he know the eternal peace and happiness promised by our Savior, Lord Jesus. Please pray for the consolation of his brother John, and all of his family and friends.
MAY SHE REST IN PEACE ~ In your charity, please pray for the eternal rest of Agnes Horvath whose Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, July 11th by Father Bodziak. May she know the eternal peace and happiness promised by our Savior, Lord Jesus. Please pray for the consolation of her children and all of her family and friends.
UPTOWN PAINTING PARTY ~ Our Religious Education Fundraising Group is holding an UPTOWN PAINTING PARTY on Friday, July 31st from 6 PM - 8 PM. It’s a 2 hour painting event where guests follow along with a talented artist, and create a masterpiece of your own! You can register online at . The cost is $40.00 and $10.00 of that will be donated to our Religious Education Fund.
DONATIONS NEEDED: ~ The Religious Education Fundraising Committee is hosting a Painting Party on July 31. We are in need of food items to serve at the event. Items include: cans or two liters of soda, bottled water, bags of various chips and pretzels, desserts, cookies, plastic silverware, Styrofoam plates, and napkins. Monetary donations would also be appreciated for hot food items. Please contact Amy Dobbins at 241-4414 if you would like to donate to this worthy cause. We greatly appreciate your donations, and support of the program. Please see the bulletin article pertaining to the painting party if you haven't already signed up to attend the event. It is a fun time! We hope to see you there!
We are placing names of the sick in the bulletin for prayer providing they give permission. Although we remember all sick and shut-ins at every Mass, we would like our parish family to be aware of the need for special prayer intentions because of a most serious illness or hospital stay. May the Divine Physician send healing grace for those for whom we pray: Josephine Koshute, Allen C. Rosemas, Patricia Murphy, Kenneth A. Yanzetich, Sr., Todd Euen, Bernice Myers, Dwight Fyock, Lori Facciani, Dylon Wills, Dawn Hagen, Debbie Dibert, Ronald Partsch, Missy, Joanne (Kolar) Hufford, Christine Flanagan, Ayden Alan Grata, Remy Beaver, Mary Lou Offman, Marian Chuckalovcak, Mildred Beesoick, John T. Plummer, Gail Margaret, Arlene Diamond, Mary Zangaglia, Dorothy Rosemas, Ann Blazosky, Theresa Podrebarac, Natalie Zerby, Betty Dremely, John Poldiak, Jr., Dan Gentile, Patricia Grata, Louise Moore, Terry McClemens, Michael Wadsworth, Valencia & Frank Tursi, Homer Locher, Georgette Minor Moreau, Gloria Weyandt, Brayden Schofield, Steve Faher, Jr, Michelle Kasper, Frank Brattelli, Josephine Danel, Steve Fiffick, Joanne Thomas, Elizabeth Landini, Violet Partsch, Donald Sherry, Sarah Dukery, Regan Kinley, Mary, Gert Bearer, Sean Wechtenhiser, Suzie Thomas, John Karian, Robert Tursi, Virginia Croyle, Carol Kovalich, Jack Heverly, Glenn Hoffman, and all of the sick of our parish, the homebound, those in nursing homes, those who care for them, and those in the military along with their families. INSTRUCTIONS IN THE FAITH ~ Is there anyone blessed with the desire to become Catholic? Are you a Catholic who really needs to know the Faith better or who has not been confirmed for one reason or another, contact the rectory or Suzi Blazosky at 495-5287 as soon as possible. The RCIA Program will begin in late August.
PLEASE NOTE ~ For several months now, a pair of reading glasses, a soft black hat and black gloves have been lying on the table at the side of the Church. If you haven’t missed them by now, they will be removed. Thank You!
JUST A NOTE REGARDING MARRIAGE: ~ If anyone is living in a marriage that has not been recognized by the Catholic Church, it would be advisable to consult a priest to see if that situation could be rectified. It could be a simple con-validation to receive the Church’s blessing. One will never know unless one inquires.
People who judge you by your past don’t belong in your present.

Memo to all Religious Ed catechists, substitutes, and volunteers:
The PENNSYLVANIA CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICE LAW has been amended to better protect children from abuse and neglect. This law has impacted all professions that are responsible for or care for children, such as teachers, health care workers, child care, coaches, scout leaders, as well as the Church.
Part of this law requires clearances and training. This means that anyone working with our parish children will need these clearances. All Parish employees, Religious Education catechists, substitutes, helpers, youth group leaders and volunteers and any other adults who help to chaperone and mentor our children in any way are those who are required to have and will need these clearances, both the PA Criminal History (Act 34) and the PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151).
Parishioners that already have these clearances and training required by their jobs will only need to submit all copies to our Saint Michael Parish Office so we can have them on file in our records. This will alleviate duplication of services. If your job does not already require these, or you do not have these clearances, you will need to obtain them to work with the parish children. These clearances will be free for all volunteers. Please contact the Rectory Office at 495-9640 or the Religious Education Office at 495-4873 to obtain more information and websites to help with this process.
Once completed, you will need to provide copies of clearances and certification.

CREATION: An atheist scientist came to God and said, "We've figured out
how to make a man without you." God said, "OK, let me see you do it."
So the atheist bent down to the ground and scooped up a handful.
But God stopped him and said, "Oh, no you don't. Get your own dirt!"
