ORIENTATION OVERVIEW

Welcome Buckeye!

By taking your next step at The Ohio State University at Lima, you become part of an academic tradition that leads the way in shaping tomorrow's world. Ohio State's orientation program is designed to get new Buckeyes off to a strong start to ensure success.

At orientation, you will: ? Learn what is expected of you as an Ohio State student both in and out of the classroom ? Attend group advising sessions to learn more about your area of study and to schedule classes ? Meet other incoming Ohio State students ? Become more familiar with campus ? Complete university business, such as getting your BuckID card and consulting with Student Financial Aid ? Receive your technology kit

Student orientation attendance is imperative for success. While students are required to attend, family members are strongly encouraged to participate in all orientation activities. This guide will be your resource for a successful orientation.

Welcome to Ohio State Lima!

*All new freshmen will be charged a $50 registration fee that will be assessed on the first semester statement of account.

Academic Advising Learn about academic advising at OSU, scheduling, understanding your degree, and what to expect as a student

10:30 - 10:45 am Break

10:45 - 11:15 am 11:15 - 11:30 am

Icebreaker -- students Break the ice and get to know other Buckeyes!

Supporting your student -- parents/guests What to expect while your student is in college, learn helpful and innovative support methods geared towards student success

Buckeyes ACT Action, Counseling, and Support

Group 1

11:30 - 12:15 pm Paying for College and Tour Learn more about financial aid and the next steps after you register for classes, move through summer and into your first year of college. Tour campus with a current Buckeye and get the inside scoop!

12:15 - 1:00 pm Lunch (provided) and Resource Fair Explore resources available on campus to help you succeed at Ohio State Lima and get your questions answered by faculty and staff

12:15 - 1:00 pm Paying for College and Tour

1:00 - 2:00 pm 2:00 - 4:00 pm

Digital Flagship Technology Kit Deployment Receive your technology kit

Scheduling and Registration Meet your academic advisor, build your schedule, and register for classes

Honors Orientation -- There will be an additional session added

in at 1:00 pm "Honors Overview". Please adjust times accordingly.

First Gen Orientation -- There will be an additional session added in at 1:00 pm "First Generation Overview". Please adjust times accordingly. 5
