Accessing and Displaying Pictures
1 Web Page Access
1. Launch Any Web Browser (e.g., IE, Chrome, Safari, FireFox)
2. Type into the address window

3. The System will display “Mike DeSimone's Michigan Football Picture Database” Login Page.

4. Press the “Submit” Button, the Login ID “Mgoblue” and Password “Mgoblue” are pre-populated.
2 Database Access
5. The System will display the Database Connect Dialog Page.

6. Select the “Database Name” dropdown menu.
7. The System will display the databases available (i.e., 1-Michigan Football and 2-Michigan Basketball)

8. Select a “Database Name” from the dropdown menu and press the “Connect” Button.

9. The System will display a menu bar and a message indicating which database is currently connected in red.

3 Thumbnail Picture Search
10. Press the “Search” Button from the menu bar.
11. The System will display a Search Dialog Screen.

12. Enter your choice of keywords (for example: ‘Tom Brady’ and Press the “Submit” Button.
Note 1: Selecting Display Mode=Thumbnail Listing will display picture thumbnails in a list with a link to the full resolution picture; and Selecting Display Mode=Full Resolution Images will display full resolution images matching search criteria.
Note 2: The “No of Records to Display” is set to a default of 50, but can be modified by the user.

13. The System will display the thumbnail listing search results matching the search criteria. The Thumbnail Listing also includes multiple attributes for each picture including:
a. A hyperlink to the particular game picture page. The game picture page includes all of the pictures available for the game.
b. A “Full Resolution” button providing the capability to display the full resolution picture.

14. Select the game picture page hyperlink.
15. The System will display the game picture page associated with the thumbnail.

2 Full Resolution Picture Display
16. Select “Full Resolution” Button
17. The System will display the full resolution picture of the thumbnail picture with a “Close Record” Button at the bottom of the page.
a. Selecting the “Close Record” Button will return the user back to the thumbnail listing page.

4 Full Resolution Picture Search
18. Press the “Search” Button from the menu bar.
19. The System will display a Search Dialog Screen.

20. Enter your choice of keywords (for example: ‘Denard Robinson’), Select “Full Resolution Images” and Press the “Submit” Button.
Note 1: Selecting Display Mode=Full Resolution Images will display full resolution images matching the search criteria.
Note 2: The “No of Records to Display” is set to a default of 50, but can be modified by the user.

21. The System will display the full resolution picture search results matching the search criteria. The Full Resolution display also includes multiple attributes for each picture including:
a. A hyperlink to the particular game picture page. The game picture page includes all of the pictures available for the game.

23. The System will display the game picture page associated with the full resolution picture.

5 Popular Search Techniques
1 Multiple Keywords (Boolean AND)
24. Press the “Search” Button from the menu bar.
25. The System will display a Search Dialog Screen.

26. Enter two (2) search criteria in single quotes separated by a space, with Boolean “AND” selected. For example: ‘Tyrone Wheatley’ ‘Ohio State’.

27. The System will display the results matching both of the criteria. In this case only the pictures for Tyrone Wheatley from the Colorado State game.

2 Date Keywords
28. Press the “Search” Button from the menu bar.
29. The System will display a Search Dialog Screen.

30. Enter a calendar date search criteria in single quotes. For example: ‘1 January 1998’ (i.e., The 1997 Season National Championship Game)

31. The System will display the results matching calendar date criteria. In this case all of the pictures from the 1997 Season National Championship Game.

3 Wildcard Keyword
32. Press the “Search” Button from the menu bar.
33. The System will display a Search Dialog Screen.

34. Enter an asterisk search criteria. For example: * (This is the default setting) and “No of Records to Display” = 3.

35. The System will display all of the pictures in the database, 3 per page, with a page number and a next page link (i.e., >>) at the bottom of the page.
