SUGGESTED SUPPLY LIST (if you already have paints & brushes, just bring them to class):

Paint: (same/similar colors for oils, acrylics, water based oils)

Titanium White Cadmium Yellow Light Yellow Ochre

Cadmium Red Light Alizarin Crimson Ultramarine Blue

Burnt Siena Burnt Umber Cobalt Blue

(optional – Sap or Hookers Green, Mars Black) *note: names often differ by brand

Brushes: (bristle for oils, synthetic for acrylics) – bring a variety of small, medium & large brushes in a combination of round, flat and filbert

Supports: a canvas board or stretched canvas or heavy canvas paper pad – 8 x 10” up to 16 x 20” to start

Palette knife

Palette or Palette paper (comes in a pad)

Paper towels and/or rag

Smock

Jar opener like you use in a kitchen (rubbery flat disc) or very small pliers (for opening stuck paint tubes)

Small dish soap (Dawn) for cleaning brushes

*Acrylics only and water based oils:

2 Containers to hold at least two cups of water.

small spray bottle for water

*Oils only:

Small can of ODORLESS THINNER (ex. Turpenoid) and 2 small jars with lids

Brush cleaner

Cover for palette to keep paint for later use & to protect while traveling (aluminum foil)

NOTE: Please bring images or objects that you want to paint to the first class
