BENEFITS OF CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT

Concurrent enrollment is an opportunity for juniors and seniors in high school to begin their college education before graduat ing from high school. Participating in concurrent enrollment not only will allow students to earn high school and college credit, but also will help students have a smooth transition to the rigor of college-level courses after graduating high school. Students are also encouraged to get involved on campus through Student Life to start creating college memories with new friends!

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Students from Accredited High Schools:

? Application for Admission ? Go to osuokc.edu/enroll and click "Apply Online" to com plete our free application.

The following documents may be obtained online at osuokc.edu/concurrent.

? High School Concurrent Enrollment Authorization form ? This form must be completed and include signatures from either the principal or counselor AND one parent/guardian.

? High School/Proposed College Course Schedule ? Seniors only: Tuition Waiver Request form

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS

The following documents may be obtained from your high school counselor and/or your ACT/SAT account:

? Official (most recent) high school transcript ? Official ACT or SAT scores

? Students may submit one residual ACT score taken at OSU-OKC per year (from November 1 to October 31) as a residual score is only valid at the institution at which it was administered.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

All documents requested must be received before a student is accepted for concurrent enrollment.

Admission to OSU-OKC does not guarantee eligibility for course placement. To ensure students possess the skills necessary to be successful in college, concurrent students must demonstrate college readiness in a particular subject area to enroll in a cor responding subject area in college. In addition, students must demonstrate college readiness in reading to enroll in subjects outside of English, math and science. Concurrent students are prohibited from enrolling in any form of developmental ed ucation. College readiness is attained by achieving requisite subject scores on the following exams:

? ACT or Pre-ACT subscores must be 19 ? SAT or PSAT subscores must be:

o Writing & Reading 480 o Math 530 ? OSU-OKC Accuplacer scores must be: o Writing 98 o Reading 80 o Elementary Algebra 76 OR o College Level Math 44

Additionally, placement requirements for general education courses must be met.
