Resources Needed To Support the Program
The College of Business and Economics already offers enough sections of these classes to meet the needs of this program.
Student need/demand for the program
There is demand for ongoing project management education. This is partly driven by the requirements for a variety of levels of education needed to be certified by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management professional. We anticipate that the graduate project management certificate may also serve as a tool for recruiting additional applicants to our MBA. We have seen similar demand and needs being met through our Human Resource Management Certificate. Existing evidence of pent-up demand is that in the first year of offering a Project Management emphasis in the MBA program, approximately 20% of the students selected this emphasis to pursue.
Relationship to other programs
This program is related to the MBA: Project Management emphasis as there is overlap between these classes. This relationship is similar to the way the existing Human Resource Management graduate certificate is related to the HR Management emphasis in the MBA.
