The mission statement of SWE is to stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity. Here at SWE-PV, we strive to achieve that mission through our events and programs year round. Beginning last semester, we are initiating a campaign to increase the activity of our SWE chapter. It is our desire to help produce the most productive female engineers on our campus. For this reason your corporate support would be greatly appreciated.SWE-PV is requesting your academic, financial, technical, and corporate expertise to assist in fulfilling the organization’s mission. Our chapter is also interested in cultivating a professional relationship with your company. Our university Provost has a chemical engineering degree and we use this dinner as an opportunity for mentorship in academia. Introduce a Girl to Engineering SWE members partner with local middle and high schools to introduce girls to engineering through interactive activities and mentoring. Each SWE member has a group of girls they mentor throughout the school year in a “big sister” relationship. WomEngineer Reception This is a joint event planned with The National Society of Black Engineers. The purpose of this event is to connect female students in the STEM disciplines to professional women excelling in industry. We hope this reception will facilitate a dialog between the women in industry and the students, addressing questions and informing the students’ transition into industry women.Sister “SWEster” Circle Our SWE members get together throughout the semester for a night of nails, desserts, and movies to relieve stress and promote bonding.Spring Banquet At the end of the spring semester, our members are awarded for their hard work and dedication at the Spring Banquet. We also recognize our sponsors and encourage student networking. Mr. Engineering Pageant This annual pageant invites a night of laughs and entertainment as male contestants compete to be the male SWE representative for the school year. This male member is also our representative for homecoming week activities. Etiquette Dinner This event is meant to inform students about how to behave at corporate interviews in dinner settings. Through the progression of a three course meal, our members are informed of the appropriate lunch and dinner etiquette to impress recruiters and present their best selves. Study Nights Study session hosted by SWE twice a month with tutors and snacks. This is a night for last minute cramming or just reading ahead for classes. WE14 Annual National Conference & Annual Region C Conference Allows our SWE members to network with other students and professionals, attend workshops, and participate in essay and research competitions. They are also exposed to corporate representatives at the career fair. 2015-2016 Calendar with Projected CostFall 2015Spring 2016AugustJanuaryLeadership Retreat $5001 SWE officer meeting $100September February “SWEster” Sister Circle $150Region C Annual Conference $10,000WomEngineer Reception $2,000SWE Lock-In $300Study Nights $150/nightHouston Public Zoo Volunteer Day FREE2 general SWE meetings $200/meetingStudy Nights $150/night1 SWE officer meeting $1002 general SWE meetings $200/meetingOctober 1 SWE officer meeting $100WE14 Annual National Conference $13,000March Introduce a Girl to engineering $350 Mr. Engineering Pageant $2,000SWE Highway Clean-Up $200“SWEster” Sister Circle $150Houston Food Bank Day FREE“A Girl Rising Movie” Viewing $200Study Nights $150/nightSWE Highway Clean-Up $2002 general SWE meetings $200/meetingStudy Nights $150/night1 SWE officer meeting $1002 general SWE meetings $200/meetingNovember 1 SWE officer meeting $100“SWEster” Sister Circle $150April Karaoke Night $300Introduce a man to SWE $200SWE Highway Clean-Up $200Etiquette Dinner $1,000Study Nights $150/nightProfessional Hair and Dress Seminar $3002 general SWE meetings $200/meetingStudy Nights $150/night1 SWE officer meeting $1002 general SWE meetings $200/meetingDecember 1 SWE officer meeting $100Dinner with Provost & Professors $700May Study Nights $150/nightSpring Banquet $5001 general SWE meeting $100Study Nights $150/night1 SWE officer meeting $1001 general SWE meeting $1001 SWE officer meeting $100Additional Cost: Officer Polo- $325Total Projected Cost: $27,000Levels of Support and BenefitsPlatinum Sponsor A donation of $3,000 or more includes: Website Advertisement for one (1) year Access to Chapter Resumes Company Informational Session with membership Host a general meetingReserved table at Spring Banquet Gold Sponsor A donation of $2,000-$2,999 includes: Website Advertisement for one (1) year Access to Chapter Resumes Company Informational Session with membership Host a general meeting Reserved table at Spring Banquet Silver Sponsor A donation of $1,000-$1,999 includes: Website Advertisement for one (1) year Access to Chapter ResumesCompany Informational Session with membership Host a general meetingReserved table at Spring Banquet Bronze Sponsor A donation of $500-$999 includes: Website Advertisement for 1 semester Access to Chapter Resumes Host a general meeting Special Recognition at Spring Banquet Renowned Sponsor A donation of less than $500 is welcomed and includes: Website Advertisement for 1 semester Access to Chapter Resumes Host a general meetingSpecial Recognition at Spring Banquet Response FormPlease complete the following: Company Name: Click here to enter pany Address: Click here to enter text.
