ZoomKindergarten Distance Learning Mrs. HarirchiOnline Platforms that will be usedYour child will be asked to join daily Zoom meetings for live instruction. Zoom meetings will begin promptly at 9:00 am. Please log-in 5 minutes before every meeting and wait in the Zoom waiting room to ensure your child is on-time for live instruction. Families will be provided daily schedules to follow.*Depending on availability of Zoom for teachers, we may have to switch to Google Meets later on.ClassLinkYour child will be using this platform in order to quickly access Google Classroom and Flipgrid.Google ClassroomStudents will be required to turn in pictures of their work on Google Classroom Monday-Friday.FlipgridStudents will be asked to record videos using Flipgrid throughout Distance Learning 2.0. These videos will allow students to practice their speaking skills. Moreover, they will help build a classroom community where students can collaborate online.AttendanceStudent attendance will be taken during the first 5 minutes of every online meeting. Please make sure your child is logged on in-time.If your child is not able to attend the live session, please let Mrs. Cunningham know ahead of time. Your child is still required to complete and turn in assignments in order to receive attendance credit.Your child will be required to attend and submit work daily.If your child attends childcare, it is expected that the provider be instructed on how to assist your student throughout their school day.Student WoRk submissionDaily assignments will be given. Students will be given some time every day to complete their assignments during school. If your child does not complete their work within the given time, they will be expected to finish the work after live online lessons.Assignments will be asked to be turned in on the day that they are given on Google Classroom. Families will be required to take clear pictures of their child’s work and post it on Google Classroom.ALL weekly assignments must be turned by 8:00 PM on Friday.TeacheR feedbackMrs. Harirchi will be monitoring student progress and communicating areas of concern with parents when needed.Students will receive feedback on their work/ assessments through Google Classroom. Families will be asked to read feedback and share it with their child to help support them.Students will receive feedback on their Flipgrid videos.AssessmentsCompleted student work and Flipgrid videos will be assessed by the teacher.Mrs. Harirchi will give assessments to students 1:1 throughout Distance Learning 2.0 via Zoom/Google Meets.Math assessments will be given at the end of each topic.Mrs. Harirchi will occasionally give formative assessments during small group instruction.Families will be asked to NOT help their child during testing. Mrs. Harirchi asks that families refrain from helping their child during testing to ensure she has accurate data on them. The data will be used by Mrs. Harirchi to identify every child’s strengths and areas of improvement. Accurate data will help Mrs. Harirchi better support each student.GRadingStudents will receive a checkmark for submission of assignments on Google Classroom. If your child does not submit their daily work on Google Classroom, they will not receive a checkmark for that day.Ms. Harirchi will “return” work on Google Classroom to ensure that families will be able to see if their child received a checkmark or not.Students will not need to resubmit work after it has been returned, unless Mrs. Harirchi asks them to.
