A teacher who is unable to satisfy the requirement but has been placed on a mandatory improvement plan may be eligible to receive an initial degree license if that teacher satisfies all other licensure requirements. For the purpose of this policy, “proficient” shall be defined as achieving a rating of proficient, or higher, on three of the five standards of the NC Educator Evaluation System (NCEES), provided that the standard related to pedagogy (Standard IV) is rated at the proficient level or higher. Each year, once all evaluation data has been collected, teachers who did not meet these performance requirements will be identified and placed on a mandatory improvement plan. These teachers’ Continuing Licenses may change to an Initial License (with a three-year term) and will be required to complete CEU’s as required in State Board of Education Policy LICN-005.InstructionsThis Team Agreement must be completed for lead teachers employed in nonpublic schools: NC Pre-K Programs, NC Developmental Day Preschool Programs, and MECK Pre-K when receiving Mentor & Evaluation services from the Early Educator Support Offices.The Teacher, Mentor, Evaluator and Site Administrator will complete this Team Agreement form electronically and save final version for their records. Conduct a Summary Evaluation Conference and score the Teacher Summary Rating Form after conducting the final post-observation conference. Purpose of this conference is to discuss the teacher’s End-of-Year Review of the PDP, the components of the NC Teacher Evaluation Process completed during the year, classroom observations, artifacts submitted and other evidence of the teacher’s performance.
