1. Review/Approve the January 8, 2014, WIB Agenda

Lisa Vincent stated that we do not have a presentation scheduled. Kevin Ferreira reported Dennis Rogers said he would attend the January WIB Meeting to present “The Next Economy”. Lisa Vincent stated Ken Garrett’s reappointment needs to be moved from “Approve” to the “Ratify” section of the Agenda.

Gary Pelfrey moved to approve the changes to the January 8, 2014 WIB Agenda; Art Rodriguez seconded; motion passed.

2. Receive Workforce Services Information Notice (WSIN) 13-23/Implementation of the New CalJOBSSM (Phase 1B) ETPL Module

This purpose of this Information Notice is to alert the Local Workforce Investment Boards (Local Boards) and eligible training providers of the February 24, 2014, release of the new CalJOBSSM Phase 1B statewide Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) module.

3. Receive WSIN 13-24/GED Proficiency Testing Alert

The purpose of the Information Notice is to alert the workforce community that, beginning January 2, 2014, a new, redesigned General Education Development (GED) proficiency test will be implemented by the GED Testing Service and will only be administered online.

4. Conference and Training Updates

a) January 28-30, 2014 will be the CWA’s Youth Employment Conference in Anaheim

b) February 25-27, 2014 will be the Labor Conference and Rapid Response.
