HINT: Clicking on View Courses will take you to your Official High School Plan - you can also access this by simply clicking on High School from the left hand navigation menu.

Grade 12 Graduating Students:

Click directly on “Not returning next year?” and follow the prompts.

STEP 1: ADD COURSES FOR NEXT YEAR

▪ In High School Planner, click + [Course]. (Use only the active column for the next school year).

▪ In the Course Selection and Details screen, explore the available courses.

▪ Make sure you select any outstanding compulsory courses first.

▪ Make sure you will have completed the prerequisite (if there is one) for each course selected.

▪ Students entering grade 11 or 12 who are interested in co-operative education should add the appropriate code (COOPFD or COOPHD) found under Co-operative Education.

▪ Click Add Course to Plan when you find the course you want.

▪ IMPORTANT: you must add one backup course in the space provided (Alternate). An alternate course will be used if one of your first choices cannot be timetabled.

(Not entering an alternate means a Guidance Counsellor will have to choose for you.)

▪ Students interested in the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) in Manufacturing should indicate this by following the link under SHSM Planner found on the right hand side of the screen.

HINT: The Graduation Indicator, on the right hand side of the screen, will help you keep track of your progress, including the completion of compulsory courses. Click View Progress for a list of specific graduation requirements.

STEP 2: REVIEW COURSES

When you are ready to submit your selections, click the Review Course Selections button and give your list of courses one final look over. Note: Any selected course for which you do not have a prerequisite will be removed and replaced.

STEP 3: SUBMIT COURSES

Once you’ve carefully reviewed the Details page to ensure that you are meeting the requirements for the courses you have selected and that the courses that appear are correct, click on Submit Course Selections.

STEP 4: PRINT SIGN–OFF SHEET and SUBMIT TO GUIDANCE

HINT: The sign-off sheet will show in another tab or window – if it doesn’t show after you’ve clicked the button, check the pop-up blocker settings for your web browser.

YOU’RE DONE!

Print and return a signed copy of your Sign-Off Sheet to the GUIDANCE OFFICE.

Deadline: THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2017

Students under 18 years of age must have the sign-off sheet signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Late submissions may jeopardize your chances of receiving your requested courses.
