Checking Web Mail

Any HCPS employee can access his/her county issued email from any Internet connected computer.

1. Launch a web browser from any Internet connected computer.

2. Type the following URL into the address bar exactly as it appears here:

3. When this box opens, enter your username and password. DO NOT check the Remember Password box. Click OK.

Some of the buttons you will use most frequently have been identified.

Opening and Reading Messages:

• From the list of messages in the Inbox, locate the message you want to read.

• Click on the message and it will open in a new window.

• Click Close when you are done reading the message.

Reply to a Massage:

• Open the message to which you wish to reply.

• Click on the Reply button.

• Type your reply text.

• Click on the Send button.

Checking for New Mail:

• Click on the Check for new mail icon on your toolbar.

Composing a New Message:

• Click the New button on the toolbar (make sure the drop down menu says Message)

• Enter the email address of the recipient (or click on the word To: to search).

• Type a subject and a message.

• Click the send button.

Deleting Messages (two methods):

1. To delete an open message, click on the delete icon button on the toolbar.

2. To delete a message from the Inbox view, select the check box to the left of the sender’s name (you may select multiple messages at once) and then click the delete icon button on the toolbar.

• After deleting messages click the trash can icon to remove deleted items from trash.

Click on Inbox to view messages. New, unopened messages will be in boldface type.

Log Off closes your email window but does not prevent others users from accessing your mailbox. You must File -> Quit Internet Explorer to completely log out.
