At Northumberland Tea we pride ourselves not only with our great tea but also with our great customer service. We really do want to make sure that all our customers are happy and by ordering online we want to make sure you get the same deal as if you were dealing with us face to face.

Legal

We’ve set out our terms and conditions here which apply when you are ordering products from our website. These conditions do not affect your legal or statutory rights – you can find out more information about your rights from your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office. We make sure that we handle any personal information you provide to us in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. If you’d like even more info on this we have a separate Privacy Policy section so please take a look at that. Please read our terms and conditions carefully and check you understand them before ordering products from our site. Delivery

We do not charge a separate fee for delivery for goods ordered from our website to customers ordering from the bulk of the U.K. Our deliveries will usually arrive within 3-5 days (excluding Sundays and bank holidays) from the despatch date. Our standard delivery service is fulfilled by Hermes, who use local lifestyle couriers; this makes things more convenient for you as local couriers can deliver any time up to 9:00pm. Orders placed before 11:00am will normally be dispatched the same day - otherwise, they will be dispatched on the next working day (excluding Sundays& bank holidays). We track the status of each delivery and will send you an email as to when you can expect your order. If nobody’s home to sign for your goods when we arrive, the driver may leave them in a secure location at his or her discretion. At exceptionally busy times (Christmas) there may be a delay in delivery, this is unfortunately out of our hands but we will always advise of the potential of delays before your order is processed. Unfortunately due to the remote nature of some locations, there are some postcodes within the UK to which we cannot offer our standard free delivery service to and we have to add a £2.00 premium to the order price, these are Isle of Man, Outer Hebrides, Shetland or post code area IM, HS, ZE. We are able to deliver outside the U.K, prices for this service does vary according to quantity ordered and delivery location. We always ship to the exact address details you enter, so make sure to check you’ve given us the correct information before you place your order as we can’t accept liability for late or failed deliveries due to an incorrect address. We know that our Armed Forces love a treat when overseas, but delivery to them isn’t quite as easy! These orders are dispatched by Royal Mail via the internal military post (BFPO) and may be subject to delays as the final delivery is undertaken by the MOD. We can send up to 5 boxes of 80 tea bags at a very reasonable cost, please get in touch and we’ll do all we can. Please contact us if you have specific requirements regarding your delivery.

Products

We occasionally offer our customers special offers and promotional offers on our website, these are subject to availability. We always do our best to ensure our customers get exactly what they’ve seen on our website, however we may have to offer an alternative if an item is out of stock. We’ll always check you’re happy with this first before processing any orders. Our tea delivered to you will have a minimum shelf life of 12 months, other products with a lower shelf life will have this specified.

Our Contract with You

These terms and conditions will apply to any contract between us for the sale of products to you. To place an order on our site for a particular product, please click “Add to basket’’ and follow the steps (including providing payment and delivery information) to complete your order. Our order process allows you to check and amend any errors before submitting your order to us. After placing an order, you will receive an email from us acknowledging and thanking you for your order and details of your delivery. Our contract with you begins when we dispatch the goods. 

Cancellation, Refunds and Returns

We always do our very best to make sure that the tea you order from us arrives in perfect condition and delivered to you within the timescales we advise. If, however, your order does not arrive or is damaged or not as described, we're more than happy to offer a refund or replacement. If you have contacted us and told us that delivery of your goods was essential on or before a set date and we miss this deadline you may cancel your order straight away. Unfortunately, damage and delay as described above are the only situations where we can offer a refund or replacement. If you are a consumer and have purchased any of our products, you have a right to cancel the contract up to the end of the day which is 14 calendar days after the day on which you receive the goods in accordance with the following provisions. This means that if you change your mind during this time or decide for any other reason that you do not want to receive or keep the goods, you can notify us of your decision to cancel the contract and receive a refund. You must return the goods to us not later than 14 calendar days after the day on which you let us know that you wish to cancel the contract. Please return the goods to:

We will refund the cost of your order within 14 days of the goods being returned to us.

You will be responsible for the cost of returning the products to us, unless the products are damaged, not as described or there is a delay in delivery, in which case we will send you a postage label to cover the return postage to us.
