Dear Parents and Community Members,

Dear Parents and Community Members, Our goal is to provide a safe, challenging learning environment that meets the needs of all of our students. This annual report card is one way to keep you informed of our progress. With much pride we share with you improvements we realized last school year. The Smarter Balanced Assessments indicated that we made significant gains schoolwide in Literacy with our juniors surpassing state averages by around 10%. Additionally, our graduation rate is 12% higher than the state average. Feedback from students, staff, and parents, as well as other data, indicated that school climate and student behavior improved. We are deliberate about teaching students positive and respectful behaviors. Many people shared with us that our focus on academics and student achievement is evident. That said we still have much work to do in terms of raising student achievement and preparing our students for college and career opportunities. We will continue to be relentless about improving student performance in Math and Literacy.

As a parent, when you emphasize regular school attendance and the value of hard work, you are reinforcing your student's success in school and in life. Our professional staff works with families to support and inspire each student. We look forward to our continued partnership to educate your child. Sincerely, Graden Blue, Principal Melissa Sandven, Principal

OVERALL SCHOOL RATING HOW ARE STUDENTS AT THIS SCHOOL PERFORMING COMPARED TO THOSE AT OTHER SCHOOLS?

The overall school rating is intended to summarize this school's particular successes and challenges. It is based on a combination of up to five factors. Three of these factors come from standardized test scores in reading and math: student achievement, student growth, and the growth of underserved subgroups. Please note that this rating is based mainly on high stakes testing and, accordingly, doesn't represent a complete view of your school's performance. Other aspects of this report card are designed to put this rating in the proper context.

The U. S. Department of Education has given the State of Oregon approval to temporarily suspend the assignment of school ratings during the transition from the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to the new college and career readiness assessments. Schools will not receive an overall school rating on this report card and will receive a new overall school rating on the 201516 school report cards.
