POD JOB ACTION SHEETS

*Note: The Job Action Sheets (JAS) provided are meant to serve as examples only of how a Point of Dispensing (POD) site could be set up utilizing products developed from the standard of the National Incident Management System’s (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS).

Definition:

Every position in a Point of Dispensing (POD) has a corresponding document that details the responsibilities for that position. This document is called a Job Action Sheet (JAS). The JAS gives a description of the job, qualifications and some have a mission statement.

The job is then divided into tasks based on immediate, intermediate and deactivation activities to be performed by the assigned individual.

▪ Immediate means the tasks that need to be completed first.

▪ Intermediate means tasks to do next and may require oversight and decision making.

▪ Deactivation tasks are to be done when the immunization/prophylaxis campaign has been completed.

Sequence of Distribution:

All JAS’s that will be used are distributed from the Incident Commander down to the next level -- the Section Chiefs. Then the Section Chiefs distribute the JAS’s to the Branch Directors under their command who in turn distribute to the Division/Group Supervisors under their command. Each function in the POD is then assigned the corresponding JAS.

There are corresponding organizational charts currently for three sections: Operations, Planning, and Logistics. Additional Organizational Charts and Job Action Sheets will continue to be developed and posted throughout the year.
