Field Service Engineer, Latin America & Caribbean Region

Bromma is now recruiting a Field Service Engineer for the Latin America Caribbean region.

Based out of the Miami, Florida office, this position will work close to and dialogue with our sales organization and customer base. The Service Engineer will work closely with the VP for Latin America and the Caribbean coordinating with the 11 agents that we have in the region, and will report directly to the Field Service Coordinator.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing timely diagnosis/repair and regular preventative maintenance to the Bromma Kalmar product lines, utilizing hand, air and electric hand tools;

• Communicate with customer to determine equipment problem and, when necessary, travel to customer location to make adjustments/repairs on units.

• Respond to warranty claims. Keep records of warranty repair costs and monitor expenditures carefully to keep expenses within budget.

• Must be capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

• Assist with the commissioning of new equipment into service. Insure that equipment is operating according to specifications. Train the customer to operate the equipment. Provide the customer with equipment service manuals and other materials according to contract specifications. This includes the preparation and updating of PowerPoint presentations that will be used for training customers.

• Maintain follow up with the customer to provide additional information or to resolve problems.

• Relay design or functional problems identified in field operations to Engineering. Relay information concerning customer needs and problems to Sales and Engineering and assist with current production projects as needed.

• Contact via telephone or visit corresponding agents in the region to maintain good relations and encourage equipment sales.

• Assist in processing Warranty orders including customer contact, order entry, processing and follow-up until completion. This includes becoming proficient with BROMMA’s QSR system.

• Test and repair Bromma spreaders where needed.

• Program and test Electronic Equipment for Spare Parts or Warranties.

• Install software upgrades in field.

• Assist as needed with Spare Parts issues.

• Travel Foreign or Domestic as required.

• Arrange and coordinate field projects between all parties, including subcontractors, unions, equipment rental companies, etc.

• Will provide support to Field Service Engineer in Miami when required.

• All visits will be documented with a call report once a trip has been completed.

• Make travel reservations including, airline, and hotel and car rental. Valid Driver’s License and Passport are required.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

Education

• Commercial or Technical background

• Minimum requirement high school diploma

• Preference will be given to those with advance technical degree and/or training

Experience

• At least five (5) years of relevant business / product experience with background in following disciplines /systems

o Electronic / Electrical

o Mechanical

o Hydraulic

o PLC’s

• Experience in commercial and/or large electronic equipment a plus

Competencies

• The ideal candidate would need to be computer literate, bilingual (Spanish is a must), and have either a high school degree or have received certification from a technical institution. By computer literate it would mean that he/she has the ability to use Microsoft Office software, including outlook along with PLC programming.

• Customer Service: Customer service skills play an important part. This includes use of telephone and email.

• Ability to listen, communicates clearly, and works well with others

• High Attention to Detail

• Strong Relationship building mentality

• Demonstrate sense of urgency

• Strong Bi-Lingual English/Spanish communication skills

Other information

• Candidates must have a Valid Driver’s license, and be able to obtain a TWIC card and Waterfront pass.
