OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

• Identify and describe the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of diseases and injuries that lead to the development of physical and cognitive disabilities

• Describe and evaluate the physical medicine and rehabilitation methods and modalities used in treating persons with injuries, diseases, and disabilities

• Identify techniques for risk factor modification, diagnosis, and treatment of predictable medical complications for persons with disabilities

• Describe state-of-the-art clinical practice of physiatry based on current research in physical medicine and rehabilitation and associated fields

• Obtain strategies for success in preparation for Part I, Part II, and/or recertification ABPMR examinations

Target Audience

This activity is intended for physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, residents and fellows, family medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, neurorehabilitation physicians, and allied health professionals in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Accreditation/Credit Designation

Baylor College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

Baylor College of Medicine designates this activity for a maximum of 81.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).

Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

Educational Methods

Lectures, case presentations, discussions, question and answer sessions, audiovisual presentations, syllabus, mock written and oral examinations.

 

Evaluation

Evaluation by questionnaire will address program content, presentation, and possible bias.

FEE, REGISTRATION AND CONFIRMATION INFORMATION

Your registration will not be processed until payment and supporting documentation, if required, is received. You will receive a registration confirmation within five business days of processing. If you have not received a confirmation by March 1, 2007, please contact the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

On-site and day registrations must be confirmed with the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation 24 hours in advance to confirm program status and availability.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

Request for registration refunds must be in writing and received by the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation no later than March 15, 2007. The date the request is received will be considered the cancellation date. Requests received after March 15, 2007, will not be processed. Cancellations are subject to a $100 administrative fee deducted from the registration fee paid to cover guarantees and other expenses. Requests should be mailed or faxed to the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Course Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or move the course should it be necessary.
