Putting plans in place that will develop these qualities and enabling people to thrive.SafeguardingPrioritise young people’s wellbeing and safety in all the work you do.DutiesCreating positive relationships:Developing positive relationships between support staff and residents and, if required, their families, to enable them to achieve their potential.Acting as a single point of contact for residents and, if required, their families and external agencies.Ensuring high quality integrated support determined by the residents’ individual needs is provided via iMatter.Developing positive relationships with accommodation providers in the city and creating partnership working opportunities.Contributing to case reviews with support staff and residents and any others involved in their support as appropriate. Keeping residents informed of housing matters and encouraging coproduction, consultation and active participation within the YMCA.Liaising with the Health & Wellbeing team to ensure initiatives encourage residents to improve confidence and increase personal development to enable them to move into independent living.Assisting in assessing the suitability of applicants referred to YMCA Derbyshire using iMatter and referral assessment tools.To be aware of culture specific legal services and health/treatment services and sign post residents as required.Meeting Organisational needs:Agreeing staff rota’s to ensure that the most effective cover is obtained and any additional staffing expenditure is minimised.Working in partnership with other agencies to meet the requirements of commissioners.Ensuring all residents receive a consistent cohesive service from the accommodation team through the monitoring of key performance indicators and reporting monthly to the senior staff team and accommodation committee.Responding to general enquiries about the supported housing scheme and assist in managing referrals from RARS and ‘Out of Authority’ framework referral system.Implementing and monitoring iMatter paperwork and reviewing regularly (minimum quarterly); responding appropriately and in a timely fashion.Ensuring accurate and professional record keeping; regularly auditing support documents.Supporting staff to maintain our strengths-based approach and the ethos of the FoyerContributing to the effectiveness of communication within YMCA Derbyshire and attending meetings, case reviews and team meetings as required.Delivering quality standards accreditation as required by ISO9001, Foyer Federation, DCC funders with effective monitoring procedures.Reporting to and attending both internal and external meetings as requiredAssisting in ensuring compliance:Ensuring all systems, policies, practices and procedures are both enabling and adhered to.Maintain and review Foyer quality development plan and Foyer learning programme Dealing effectively with residents’ disputes and, in conjunction with the accommodation staff, in line with the current policy.Promoting excellent safeguarding practices in conjunction with Derbyshire County Council Safeguarding Procedures and those of YMCA Derbyshire.Acting as a mediator to challenges or any crisis that may arise for the resident, reporting, recording and responding to incidents, major occurrences and complaints in accordance with agreed procedures.To work with the Accommodation & Support Services Manager to review, recommend and develop policies and procedures which enable appropriate interpretation and implementation of housing and other relevant legislation.To understand and apply the principles of the following legislative frameworks;Housing Legislation including Landlord & Tenant Act and Anti-social Behaviour ActWelfare Reform and Exempt AccommodationThe Children’s Act 1989 (particularly s20) and Every Child Matters.Safe-guarding (including Missing & Absent Person’s protocols)GDPRRequirementsRole-specific skills:Proactive and self-motivated with a can-do attitude.?Confident and capable communicators with the ability to inspire, engage, enhance learning and provoke thoughtful reflection.Understands and uses a range of methods for achieving positive results with people, and knows when to challenge and when to support.Able to build strong relationships with professionals in other organisations.Strong team player who can support and challenge and guide colleagues when appropriate.Excellent planning and organisation skills, with the ability to manage several competing tasks at the same time.Excited by developing and implementing savvy new ideas to improve the service.Able to use digital technology at work.Experience of multi agency working. Ability to prepare and present written reports.Demonstrated ability and experience of quality assessment.Experience:Proven ability to work, engage and relate well with people aged 16-25 is essential.Proven ability to demonstrate skills and experience in providing support and supervision to staff.Experience of working with people, including those who are homeless and supporting them to manage their needs and develop life skills. Technical requirements:Appropriate qualification (e.g. social work, mental health, youth work) or equivalent experience in a relevant sector.Hold a full driving licence, business insurance and have use of a car.Knowledge and understanding of housing legislation and children’s act.YMCA DERBYSHIRETERMS AND CONDITIONSAccommodation Team LeaderSalary?24,675.40 per annum2.Hours of workThe hours of work are 35 hours per week Mon-Friday (Shift work when required) to meet the needs of the clients and the project.
