Guard Your Heart 

Proverbs 4:23-27

❑ The heart is not as much the muscle the beat in our chest but the vary assents of who we are

❑ Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

❑ We are to guard the heart from anything that may cause us to us to become polluted with sin

I. What We Say

Proverbs 4:24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

A. A cautious mouth

1. Our words can get us into all kind of trouble

B. To be wise we are to not have a fowl mouth

1. People can control the speech when they want to

C. Our speech is a sure sin of what’s in our hearts

Matthew 12:34, “for out of the abundance of

the heart the mouth speaketh.”

Matthew 15:18-19, “But those things which

proceed out of the mouth come from the heart,

and they defile a man. For out of the heart

proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries,

fornications, thefts, false witness,

blasphemies.”

II. What We See

Proverbs 4:25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

III. What We Serve

Proverbs 4:26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Proverbs 4:27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

IV. How can I guard my heart in theses days

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

A. Guard the heart by

❑ Filling The Heart With Pure Thoughts.

❑ God Judges Our Heart As Well As Our Actions

❑ Outward Sin Begins Always Starts In The Inward Man
