No matter how long you've been around Girl Scouts, sometimes it's tough to decode the inside language. Learn about some essential terms below that will help you navigate this guide and plan your best Girl Scout experience.

Badges and Journeys ? the building blocks of Girl Scouts. Little leadership units where girls discover, connect and take action on a variety of topics. They are progressive and grow in depth and subject matter as your girl grows up in the program. Free Patch Programs ? Discover different plants along the trails, learn how to pitch a tent, set up a campsite, and start your own fire to cook over! This is part 1 of a 2 part program.

Polar Plunge All Date & Time: January 11, 10am-5pm Location: STEM Center of Excellence Fee: $5 Contact: stem@ Think you've got what it takes to endure a little cold-water swimming? Celebrate Girl Scouts by jumping into the pool at the STEM Center! Other outdoor amenities can be added for an additional fee.

The Guide helps girls keep an open mind and understand how to interact respecfully with cultures that may be different from their own.

This film is designed to raise awareness around anxiety and how it affects the brain and body.

Think Like an Engineer Brownie | Junior | Cadette Date & Time: January 18, 10am-3pm Location: Studio Bella Fee: $20 Contact: programs@ Learn the engineering process and enjoy handson activities and adventures to tackle the Think Like an Engineer Journey.

Tackle Hunger Banquet All Date & Time: January 19, 5pm-7pm Location: UTD Visitor Center Atrium Fee: $5 Contact: programs@ 150 million people will tune into the big game, while 48 million Americans struggle with hunger. Join us and Souper Bowl of Caring to host an eye-opening event where families can learn about our neighbors who face everyday struggles.

Parents are invited to attend a portion of the workshop.

Code a Talking Robot with Ohbot Brownie | Junior | Cadette Date & Time: February 4, 6pm-8pm Location: Microsoft Store, Stonebriar Fee: FREE Contact: programs@ Oh, boy! It's Ohbot! It's your chance to get hands-on with an Ohbot, the award-winning, programmable expressive robot head. Girls will code the Ohbot robot to tell a story, sing a song or make a joke.
