Introduction
FIRST FEW SENTENCES OF INTRODUCTION:
-Explain BRIEFLY what rhetoric is, and how it can be used or abused.
-Introduce Crucible (title, author) and your character’s role in it (what is his or her objective?)
-Introduce analogous political figure (who is he or she, and what does he or she want?)

-On what common appeals and/or fallacies do these individuals rely?
-Do they attempt to honestly inform or to self-interestedly manipulate their audiences?
-How do their audiences receive their rhetoric (positively or negatively)?

LAST SENTENCE - THESIS (answers all questions in one sentence):
-Would you hope for the success of such a rhetorician?
- Why or why not? Specifically, what positive or negative quality of the American public would his/her success reveal?

-What is one persuasive appeal on which both figures rely?

-In your own words, introduce a quote that shows the Crucible character using this appeal.
