Genesis reveals much about the nature of God:

1. God is the Creator and Life-giver (1:1 - 2:9).

3. God is holy and judges sinful humans (3:8-24; 6:5-7; 11:1-9; 18:16 - 19:29).

4. God is merciful, even in judgment (3:21; 4:15; 6:8; 18:32).

5. God is sovereign over every power (18:14; 26:12-16).
