Any papers turned in after this date will be subject to a 10 point per day penalty.

Length: This paper will be a minimum of 5 full pages. A penalty will be assessed for any paper that does not meet the minimum length. Papers will certainly be welcomed that exceed 5 pages.

Requirements:

• You may use the internet, but you may not cite (use, copy or quote) anything from . This site is unreliable and will not be used in your paper as a source. You should feel free to use other web sites, especially the site created by the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in your work. We will go over acceptable and unacceptable sites to use.

• You are also required to use at least two print (an actual book) sources in your research. This does not include Night. You may use any of the online databases available in the library as well.

• At a minimum, you will use 5 sources in your paper. If you need help in locating these, please do not hesitate to ask me or Mrs. Ebert in the library.

• For all sources used in your paper, you will provide a works cited page.

• This paper must be typed, doubled-spaced with size 12 font. You may use Calibri or Times New Roman. You may not use any other font type or size. Margins must be 1 inch; anything more or less will result in point deductions.

• You will use MLA format. We will go over this.

• This paper will be submitted to me online via Instructions attached. If, for some reason, you cannot submit the paper to from home, you will need to make arrangements to do so from school ahead of time. Failure to plan ahead will not constitute an emergency on my part on the due date.

• You should not write in the first person and you should not mention historical figures by their first names only. Grammar, particularly verb tense, must be consistently correct.

Submit your final draft of your research paper to by 8:55am on Friday, November 15.

First create a use profile.

1. Go to

2. Click in the upper right hand corner on “create user profile”

3. Select “student”

4. Enter your class ID:

a. 2nd period

b. 4th period

5. Enter enrollment password. The password is: mayfield

6. Enter your email address. This will be your login name.

7. Create a password. This is your personal password for when you login.

8. Choose a secret question and type an answer.

9. Enter your first and last name, country and state.

Once you have your user profile, here are the instructions for submitting your paper:

1. Login to

2. Click on the name of the class (2nd period or 4th period).

3. Click the submit button that is next to the name of the assignment: Holocaust Research Paper Final Draft

4. Submit paper by upload.

5. Type your name and the title of your assignment.

6. Click the “Browse” box.

7. A box called “Choose File” will automatically come up when you click “Browse.”

8. At the top of this box, there is a rectangular box called “look in.”

9. Select where you are choosing your file from and select your paper to upload.
