First Look: Outlook Web Access (OWA) & OWA Light

Launch your browser and enter the following address:

If you use Internet Explorer and don't check `Use Outlook Web Access Light' you will get OWA Premium, if you use Firefox or Safari, you will automatically get OWA Light. The Security options work where a public setting will force a log off after 10 minutes and the private setting, which is best used on campus or from home, will not.

OWA Premium

This is a quick and simple method to access your mailbox. Although it does not have 100% of the functionality of Outlook, it comes very close.

It will not show any messages that may be in your Personal Folders in Outlook or Entourage on your client computer.

The interface is very similar to Outlook where the folders appear the same and its drag and drop based message manipulation. Changing your Password: Selecting `Options' at the top of the screen (next to your name) provides basic mailbox options, including the Changing Password utility which appears below the Junk Email on the left side of the screen which can be seen below:

Many other important features such as General settings, Calendar Options, Rules, and Out of Office Assistant are available in OWA and can be noted under the options column.

OWA Light

OWA Light is used in a Firefox or Safari browser environment and is required in the native mode on a Macintosh. The application is a quick and simple method to access your mailbox like OWA but it does come without significant features in OWA, Entourage, or Outlook. Whereas the initial login screen for OWA Light is very similar to that found on OWA (the OWA light check box is automatically checked) the mailbox itself provides fewer features:
