Neurovascular Observations For Orthopaedic Patients

Venous ulcers typically occur in the lower legs, between the ankle and mid-calf area. They are flat, shallow wounds with irregular edges and a beefy color. There is firm edema and moderate to heavy drainage. The skin around the wound is dry, thin, and scaly, with visibly dilated superficial veins.
