Greetings from the Parent and Family Program!

We are excited to share with you information about our Family Weekend Scholarship. This year, Family Weekend will take place October 18-20, 2019. We recognize the financial commitment required for families to attend Family Weekend, and are offering a need-based scholarship program to help offset the expenses of attending.

Scholarship Information

The Family Weekend Scholarship provides funding for up to 8 participants, including the UW?Madison student(s). This scholarship is a value of $191 per family of 8, including your student, and covers basic registration at $12 per person, as well as Farewell brunch tickets at $16 per person. Family Weekend scholarships give families access to most events throughout the weekend, such as:

? Open Classes ? Chancellor's Reception with schools, colleges and academic units ? Camp Randall Open House ? Photo shoots with Bucky Badger ? Downtown Madison Cheese Walk ? Farewell Brunch with Bucky ($16 per person value) ? And any other Family Weekend activities throughout the weekend that do not require an additional ticket

*Please note that these scholarships do not include overnight accommodations. Please see schedule at for a list of event times, locations and details.

Eligibility Requirements

The Family Weekend Scholarship is designed to assist the families of those students with high financial need as demonstrated by the student's financial aid application (FAFSA). Preference will be given to those students/families with an Expected Family Contribution of $0 for the 2019-20 academic year (as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.) There is a limited number of scholarships available, and they will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Any parent or guardian of a current, full-time undergraduate student receiving financial aid is eligible to apply for a Family Weekend Scholarship.

Application Process

Please complete and submit the Family Weekend Scholarship Application one of the following two ways: 1) Scan and email to: parent@uwmad.wisc.edu 2) Mail to: UW-Madison Parent and Family Program, 1308 W. Dayton St., Suite 329, Madison, WI 53715

Applications are due by Tuesday, October 1, 2019. Families will be privately notified of decisions via e-mail within two weeks of submitting their application. Families receiving the scholarship will then receive information to register for Family Weekend. Please note that all application documents and Family Weekend Scholarship decisions will remain strictly confidential.
