Thank you!Principal’s MessageDear Gulfside Families,Happy Valentine’s Day to all of our Gulfside Families! It is a different school year for sure as we take many precautions with our students and staff. While having students bring in Valentines cards is not recommended this year, at Gulfside we will ensure that every child receives a special treat on Friday. Just a reminder that masks are worn by our staff and students the entire school day and on the bus each day. Please encourage your child to let their teacher know if they need to change their mask or if they need a new mask throughout the school day. Our students do receive a mask break at recess, lunch and PE while making sure to social distance from their peers. Students may also wear a face shield instead of a mask if you wish. Please reach out to us anytime if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns.Thank you to our families for making sure students are in attendance on the school campus or online, and engaged in learning each day! Please continue to encourage your child to read each night and complete all homework assignments. Be sure to reach out to your child’s teacher if you are in need of reading materials and school supplies to use at home. I am very thankful for all of our Gulfside families as we work together to make a safe, caring, positive difference in our school community and for every child, every day!Sincerely,?Ms. Craig 37757100FREE & REDUCED LUNCH APPLICATIONPlease keep your Free and Reduced Lunch status up to date as all approvals are for one school year only. Second Step is a preventative tool to assist students in problem solving, identifying emotions, and how to properly respond to different situations. It is taught in each classroom during the morning meetings throughout the week. Some examples of what is covered in this curriculum include: anger management, conflict resolution, empathy, and emotional awareness of themselves and others. Our goal is to grow students in their social emotional learning and regulations. We all have feelings and we want to guide students to express them in an appropriate manner. -6477043053000January Citizens of the Month Congratulations: Joetta Gault, Lyris Parent, Orlando Emiliano Sepulveda, Serenity Butler, Emma Sharay, Johndaniel Roldan, Natalie Mojica Rodriquez, Evalynn Pichardo-Arias, Daniel Groning, Nicole Boccia, Aryn Stephen, Alexa Young, Jordan Kaimer, Nazarae Colon, Jillian Eversoll, Dustin Nguyen, Laylanis Baez, Mikayla Earley, Luis Ramos, Jaylynn McBride, Isabella Diaz, Lilly Bourgeois Fisher, Jenna McBride, Janiah White, Chase Foltz, Savannah Stanley, Jordan Schieler and Elliona SheffieldGreat Job Pelicans!Staff Shout OutHas a staff member at Gulfside Elementary gone above and beyond for you, your child, or family?
